What do I need to know about withdrawing from my TFSA?

Modified on Sun, 21 Apr at 7:51 PM

A TFSA is an account where all investment income earned (interest, dividends, capital gains) within the account is not taxed, even if you withdraw from the account.  The amount that you withdraw from a TFSA in a calendar year is added to your contribution room as of January 1st of the following year.

You'll need to check with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to determine your contribution limits.
