How can I transfer in a Registered Pension Plan?

Modified on Mon, 29 Apr at 1:55 PM

A Registered Pension Plan (RPP) is an arrangement between you and your institution to receive pensions as a retired employee. You can learn more about RPPs here.

Typically, you can transfer funds from an RPP into the following types of accounts: LIRA (Provincial RPPs) or Locked-in RRSP (Federal RPPs).

Depending on your situation, you may need to provide additional paperwork - however, we will communicate with you if anything is needed during the transfer process.

To transfer funds from an RPP into an account with us, please:

  1. Create a Network Wealth profile
  2. Create the account type you wish to receive your RPP funds in
  3. Complete the following form: T2151, Direct Transfer of a Single Amount Under Subsection 147(19) or Section 147.3.
  4. Submit a request to our support team with the following information:
    1. Your completed transfer form
    2. A relinquishing account statement
    3. The institution you wish to transfer from
    4. If you wish to make a full or partial transfer
    5. Your account number
    6. The approximate amount you wish to transfer ($)

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime.
