Network Wealth believes nothing is more important than making sure your account is secure and only you can access your investments.
As computing power evolves - and passwords don't get any more secure (did you know: passwords like password or 12345 are still some of the most used?) - the effort required to crack a weak password is only getting smaller.
To make sure your account stays secure - Network Wealth uses a combination of email-based One-Time Passwords (OTP), as well as a text message (SMS)-based OTP. Here's how they work:
Email-based One Time Passwords
When setting up your account for the first time, we'll ask you to enter your email address. We recommend using a personal email that you'll always have access to - and avoiding the use of school/work emails where access may sometimes not be available in the future.
We'll send an initial verification code to your email address that you can enter on the following screen. This code expires - so make sure to do it soon after receiving it. If you need, you can request another code from the same screen.
You won't be able to proceed further into the app without first verifying your email address.
SMS-based One Time Passwords
After your email address is verified, we'll also ask you to verify your phone number.
The same process applies to verifying your email address: this code will expire, and you can request a new one if needed.
Again, you won't be able to proceed further into the app without first verifying your phone number.
Can I use a non-Canadian phone number?
When setting up passwordless login, you are required to use a Canadian-based number.
What happens if I don't have access to my email or phone number anymore?
Since email and phone numbers are key to this process, we intentionally make them more difficult to change.
However, we know that life happens - you can be locked out of an email address, or need to change a phone number.
If either of these happens to you, please reach out to our support team who can help get you back into your account.
