What is non-resident withholding tax? Why am I being charged for it?

Modified on Sun, 21 Apr at 8:30 PM

Based on Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements, Canadian financial institutions and other payers are required to withhold non-resident tax at a rate of 25% on certain types of Canadian-source income they pay or credit you as a non-resident of Canada.
